AccountantDepartment - AccountingReports To - VP, ControllerFSLA
Status - ExemptJob SummaryPosition responsibilities include
processing/maintaining fixed assets, prepaid accounts, responsible
for executing a variety of financial procedures, including
month-end and year-end closing, general ledger reviews, variance
analysis, account reconciliations, assisting with quarterly
regulatory reporting, preparing estimated tax entries and quarterly
payment calculations, support liquidity management, stock/share
count reconciliation, Bank audits and other accounting related
support as needed. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for
assisting other department staff in contributing to these
procedures and analyses.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for
monthly fixed asset and prepaid accountingSupports daily liquidity
and funds managementPrepare general ledger certifications (i.e.
correspondent bank accounts, asset/liability general ledger
accounts and bank control accounts)Assist in the month end close
process and reportingPrepare/provide information in connection with
process flowcharts, internal audits, FDICIA/SOX compliance, and
regulatory examinationsPrepare entries for equity grants including
restricted stock awards (RSA), restricted stock units (RSU) and
stock optionsMaintain and track stock accounting which includes
outstanding shares available, award agreements, and 1099-B
fractional share filingsUpdate maintain equity tracking
systemPrepare estimated tax entries and quarterly tax
paymentsAssist in preparing the quarterly Call Report and
supporting schedulesMonitors and validates accounting processes and
works with senior management to recommend and implement process
improvements as neededDevelops, implements, and maintains reporting
procedures and FDICIA documentsEnsures activities are FDICIA
compliantWorks closely with several areas of the Bank in support of
financial reporting deliverablesBuilds and maintains rapport with
internal departments and external agencies involved in the
financial reporting processAssists with external audits and reviews
of the consolidated financial statements with respect to financial
reporting itemsAdditional tasks and responsibilities as
assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications5+ years Accounting Experience5+ years Bank
Accounting; preferredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
from an accredited universityProficient in Microsoft Office Suite,
including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power PointTechnical
SkillsStock tracking software (Optiontrax, Certent, etc.)Strives to
continuously build knowledge and skillsShares expertise with
othersAccounts Payable core software (i.e., BankTel)Skills and
CompetenciesPerforming tasks with minimal supervisionSeeks help,
asks questions, observes, and utilizes resources
consistentlyExcellent written/verbal communication and presentation
