A successful candidate for this role will work on-site at property locations, at a district/regional office, or home office as appropriate. The Facilities Auditor role is one with a strong background in auditing. This role needs to be able to meet deadlines and communicate findings in a timely manner. Must have analytical and problem-solving skills along with effective written and communication skills. This candidate must be able to manage/balance multiple priorities and deliver work on time. Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, with frequent interruptions or distractions.Essential Duties & Responsibilities -

  • Regular attendance in accordance with Company's Attendance Policy
  • Conduct periodic internal audits for our self-storage division
  • Analyze data to identify potential trends and anomalies
  • Execute audit procedures to identify potential gaps or inefficiencies
  • Maintain internal audit procedures and risk assessment processes
  • Ensure that there is compliance with all Westport Properties policies, and standards
  • Ensure accuracy of financial information
  • Stay current on industry trends, and best audit practices
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of information
  • Identify compliance or ethics issues that require follow-up
  • Prepares risk assessments for areas audited for Regional and District Managers
  • Organizes and plan effectively and efficiently.
  • Schedule site visits based on criteria provided
  • Participates in special projects and special investigations under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Identifies improvements to audit processes and works with supervisor to develop solutions.
  • Delivers quality audit work and meets the completion timeframes of each audit.Qualifications
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
    • Intermediate computer skills required
    • General office and telephone skills required
    • Experience with Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Excel, and Adobe requiredEducation
      • Auditing background 3+ years preferred
