Job Description:
Overview: The Aquatics Team Leader is responsible for the direct
oversight of assigned aquatics areas, ensuring safe operations,
procedural compliance, and consistent guest service. This role
provides frontline leadership to lifeguards within their assigned
zone, reinforcing training standards, professionalism, and
situational awareness. The Aquatics Team Leader supports the
department’s safety culture through active presence, coaching, and
communication while escalating concerns appropriately to
supervisory leadership. Salary Details: $21.50/hr. (Rehire)/$21.00
(New Hire) Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations within
assigned aquatics areas, supervising multiple lifeguards
simultaneously Ensure lifeguards are positioned, attentive, and
operating in accordance with Ellis & Associates standards and
departmental procedures Provide real-time coaching, guidance, and
corrective feedback to lifeguards as needed Maintain strong
situational awareness and respond appropriately to safety concerns,
guest needs, or operational issues Support audit readiness by
reinforcing proper scanning, positioning, and operational
discipline Assist with minor performance documentation and
communicate observations to supervisors Serve as a point of contact
for operational questions and immediate issue resolution within the
assigned area Promote a professional, calm, and guest-focused
environment Support training reinforcement by modeling correct
techniques and procedures Escalate incidents, concerns, or
performance issues to Aquatics Supervisors in a timely manner
Maintain certifications and demonstrate consistent adherence to
safety and operational standards Qualifications: Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old. Must be friendly and outgoing with a
high customer service acumen. Required to maintain established
performance levels. Must successfully complete a swim-test and
lifeguard certification course. Physical Requirements: Climbing,
balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching,
walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, picking, pinching, typing,
grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of the
hands, wrists and/or fingers. Standing or sitting for extended
periods of time. Swimming a distance of 50 yards in shallow water
and 200 yards in deep water (distance depending on type of
license). Diving feet-first in 5-10 feet under water and retrieving
a 10-pound brick. Treading water without using arms. Exerting up to
100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force
frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move
objects. 20/25 vision with or without corrective lenses. Both eyes
must also be fully functional. Exposure to environmental conditions
such as rain, direct/indirect sun and heat for extended periods of
time. Subject to standing in natural, untreated river water or
other water for extended periods of time. Subject to extreme cold.
Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than
one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other
environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. Subject to
extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more
than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other
environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. Subject to
sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard
above ambient noise level. Subject to vibration. Exposure to
oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. Subject to
hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as
proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical
current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high
heat or exposure to chemicals. Subject to atmospheric conditions
that affect the respiratory system of the skin, such as fumes,
odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. Exposure to
multiple, high-stress situation at any given time and must maintain
a high level of alertness.
