Job Description:
Salary Range: $64.5600 - $99.2500 /hour
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Supervisor, Network Engineering is primarily responsible for
the planning, architecture, design, enhancement and ongoing
operations of the enterprise network supporting all Hoag locations.
Supervises Network Engineering team; Ensures resources are
effectively utilized and meeting project and operational
commitments; Manages on call schedules; Acts as the point person
for escalation. Organizes and coordinates activities for the
enhancement and on- going support of the WAN, LAN, VOIP and
wireless environment at Hoag. Works with business partners to align
technology solutions with business objectives. Defines network
standards, deployment methods, use of supporting tools and
technologies. Provides technical expertise and operational
experience to evaluate, design, configure, install, maintain and
support all network solutions including WAN, LAN, Wireless.
Establishes strong relationships with customers; Resolves complex
customer issues. Manages vendors, contracts and maintenance
renewals related to network engineering and ensures SLAs and KPIs
as defined are met. Performs capacity planning to ensure bandwidth
and core network scales to support business needs. Understands
network security, assesses network risk and develops contingency
plans and options including appropriate technologies to secure the
network. Ensures appropriate monitoring and diagnostic tools,
processes and procedures are in place to ensure high availability
and optimal network performance across the enterprise. Collaborates
with business and IT partners to understand customer needs in
developing solutions; Aligns technology solutions with business
objectives; Ensures technology upgrades and changes are
appropriately planned, tested, communicated and executed to prevent
any impact to customers. Develops methodologies and processes
needed to scale for growth, peak use capacities, remote access
services, and support the roadmap for future use cases and
expansion. Supervises tasks associated with evaluation, design,
installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, documentation, and
expansion to support deploying new WAN/LAN/Wireless solutions.
Ensures personal and staff compliance with all IT policies and
procedures including incident and change management; server,
network, desktop/workstation standards, policies and procedures.
Technically mentors all team members with advanced technical
solutions or problem resolution. Contributes to the development of
enterprise standards Provides technical specifications for
upgrades, projects and expansions. May require travel. Performs
other duties as assigned. Supports the Information Technology (IT)
mission to provide quality service to internal and external
customers.
Education and Experience
Required
* High School diploma; 10+ years of related technical
experience;
* Ten plus (10+) years' network engineering experienced with
enterprise Cisco routers, switches, wireless devices and
firewalls
* Experience with managing and monitoring solutions including
Solarwinds, Cisco Prime & other tools
* Ten plus (10+) years' experience in implementing methods,
processes and technologies required to efficiently administer and
manage enterprise networks
* Experience with Smartnet maintenance management and renewals
* Experience with contracts and vendor management
* Available for and participate in 7x24 on call escalation path
* Maintains professional knowledge of current trends in Healthcare
IT
* Solid understanding of Cisco wireless networks in a healthcare
environment supporting broad range of medical devices.
Preferred:
* Bachelors' Degree in Information Technology or related field; 5+
years' experience in supervisory role supporting a large healthcare
network environment.
Certifications Required
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Certifications Preferred
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
