Ardurra is seeking a Public Works Design Engineer to join our
staff in Public Work Design Group in El Segundo, CA or Newport
Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring the
application of standard design engineering techniques for projects.
The candidate must be capable of exercising independent judgment in
evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering
techniques, procedures, and criteria to contribute to the project
design. This includes experience in utilizing various Civil
Engineering computer software packages and automated engineering
and design tools. Assignments involve some unusual or challenging
issues requiring job knowledge and abilities beyond entry
- Lay out full plan designs, plan details and outlines,
identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs
calculations for a detailed segment of a project.
- Participate in the preparation of technical specifications for
review and approval.
- Prepares technical reports.
- Performs field tests & measurements, collects field data, as

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or
Environmental from an accredited university or college.
- 3+ years of related experience in engineering, and design.
- California PE, recommended
- Local knowledge of agency requirements
- Experience preparing final design plans, specifications and
construction cost estimates
- Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivating, team-oriented work practices, strong analysis
and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
drafting and design
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
