Job Description: Pacific Life is looking to build a world-class IT Asset Management (ITAM) Program. To support that effort, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Asset Management Analyst who will be responsible for the enterprise-wide management of digital technology assets (including but not limited to, hardware, software, cloud, SaaS, etc.). This key role will require prior experience in Software Asset Management - SAM and Hardware Asset Management - HAM, along with the functions that support the software and hardware life-cycle. The optimal candidate will have experience establishing an effective technology life cycle that spans from asset selection, tracking, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, retirement and disposal. The desired candidate will be detail and task oriented while at the same time capable of seeing the broader picture. Goals and Responsibilities --- Working with the software asset manager to raise awareness of SAM processes and policy across the IT organization and wider business as appropriate through communication with and education of stakeholders --- Designing, developing, and generating reports (and their review) to communicate and monitor compliance, liability and budgetary data for software and hardware assets --- Analyzing exception data to identify potential breaches of policy and their causes; investigating and reporting on license compliance issues or shelfware and remediation options --- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of asset data - follow up with data / asset owners as necessary --- Managing the software support and maintenance renewal process to ensure that payments are justified, are in line with contractual commitments, and are paid or canceled in time to avoid late payment fees or cancellation penalties --- Identifying areas for cost savings through the identification of unallocated licenses or equipment, alternative support options, rationalization, optimal licensing and hardware deployment practices --- Providing licensing consultancy and advice to the project management office and enterprise architecture and support teams --- Monitoring changes to license terms and conditions (T&Cs), alerting stakeholders to licensing changes that are relevant to them and arranging licensing briefings as appropriate --- Support vendor audit activities including presenting audit result findings to executives --- Serve as primary escalation contact for all SAM/HAM activities --- Ensure the accurate collection, storage, and maintenance of data on all in-scope software installed in the asset repository; --- Track software titles throughout their life-cycle; accurately report software compliance positions for all in-scope software --- Timely and accurate reconciliation of lifecycle data relating to software and hardware assets and the asset tracking system --- Track software entitlement and maintenance data in support of refresh as well as end of life processes and projects; investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain integrity of software asset data --- Manage preparation and distribution of pre-defined and ad-hoc reports; identify and recommend hardware and software that has the potential to be harvested or replaced with lower cost alternatives --- Identify and report on potential issues with asset tracking tool, supporting systems and inputs; develop and maintain related program and process documentation Factors for Success --- 5+ years of related Software and Hardware Asset Management experience with a bachelor's degree; or 7+ years of equivalent experience --- A firm working knowledge of license models as well as entitlements and usage rules for software publishers including, but not limited to, Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Oracle, Citrix, Amazon, etc. --- Possess a solid understanding of IT asset management policies, procedures and best practices --- Experience using industry standard SAM solutions like Flexera, SNOW Software, Aspera etc. --- Solid working knowledge of ITSM system ServiceNow --- An understanding of End Point Management and inventory toolsets such as SCCM, InTune, UEM, etc --- Moderate to Advanced experience using MS Excel, Access, SQL and similar tools --- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex software entitlement and usage data and present results to business leaders --- Experience working in a Managed Services environment --- 3+ years of hand-on experience implementing and managing a Software Asset Management Tool and SAM practice --- Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills --- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the objective of delivering a positive customer experience --- Proven history in building Quality Assurance concepts and practices into all aspects of an ITAM program --- Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrixed management environment.
