Acorns is seeking an exceptional Sr. Manager/Director of Corporate Development to help guide our efforts in evaluating and executing on strategic transactions (M&A, capital markets, strategy, etc.). This person will provide tactical and strategic insights and analysis to drive business decisions. In addition, cross-functional partnership will occur frequently to quantify, prioritize, and evaluate major strategic investments across the organization. This role will work directly with the Sr. Director of Finance, C-Level executives, and leadership throughout the organization, including product, engineering, marketing, and operations.-- This role has the option to be remote or based in our Irvine or New York offices.   • Introduce yourself to the organization--
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product, business model, and strategic vision of Acorns
  • Contribute to valuation exercises, capital structure optimization and financing activities Within 3 months, you will:
    • Track market and competitive developments in the fintech space and communicate with executives and business leadership
    • Analyze strategic opportunities--
    • Assist in projects in support of strategy and business development initiatives
    • Assist/run ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests, including board and investor-facing presentations Within 6 months, you will:
      • Help build and develop a best-in-class team
      • Identify, develop, and assess new business opportunities in partnership with executive and business management
      • Serve as a key stakeholder in the strategic planning process and quantify company goals and investment opportunities
      • Build detailed financial, scenario-based models to evaluate investment priorities and evaluate potential alternatives
      • Participate in and nurture broad networks of alliances with others to exchange knowledge and information-- What you will bring to Acorns:
        • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience (corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, private equity), with a stronger weighting towards transaction-related experience (M&A, capital activity, etc.)
        • Bachelors in Finance or Accounting or equivalent discipline a must; CPA, CFA or MBA is a plus
        • High degree of organization and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail--
        • Must possess excellent analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations--
        • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact well with senior management and communicate effectively in meetings--
        • Must be a team player who understands the importance of the role as a key support function to the operating team--
        • Must have a strong track record of having built outstanding and effective relationships with cross functional teams
        • Ability and desire to roll up sleeves and be hands-on in an entrepreneurial fast-paced, high-growth environment--
