Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesHoag Hospital Foundation seeks an accomplished Director of Campaigns to lead Hoag's capital and comprehensive campaigns with goals ranging from $200 million to over $1 billion. For the right candidate, this is a rare, career-defining opportunity to make an unprecedented impact in the field of health care philanthropy. The Director is the central organizer responsible for orchestrating all of the necessary resources and elements to successfully plan and conduct overlapping, multi-year campaigns.The Director develops each campaign's plan and operating framework and oversees all the administrative aspects of each campaign. S/he identifies, recruits and organizes the key players, marshals the required resources and leads the necessary planning, delivery and evaluation activities. To accomplish these responsibilities, s/he collaborates with individuals and teams that include Foundation staff, senior Foundation and Hoag leadership as well as campaign volunteers, donors, physicians and clinical leaders, vendors and campaign counsel.Reporting to the Vice President for Development Operations and Campaigns, the Director participates as an active thought leader within the organization and maintains expert-level knowledge in current and evolving trends in capital and comprehensive campaigns. The ideal candidate excels at strategic planning and project management and possess a high degree of professional experience leading capital and comprehensive campaigns at non-profit organizations within health care or higher education.Job Responsibilities:* Design, plan, implement, manage, and oversee all administrative aspects of multi-year capital and comprehensive campaigns in support of Hoag.* Produce high-level campaign timelines and detailed underlying project plans that include benchmarks, milestones, deliverables, goals and key players.* In concert with Foundation leadership and front line development staff, participate in developing strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new and existing donors.* Design, launch and maintain processes for identifying and tracking approved funding priorities that will be included within each campaign.* Work with communication, marketing teams and other partners to develop campaign branding and messaging including the case prospectus, case for support, other relevant collateral and branded merchandise.* Collaborate with the prospect research and management team to leverage data analytics and predictive modeling to inform campaign strategies, identify potential donor populations, measure the philanthropic potential of existing donor households, develop campaign gift tables, craft ask amounts and design solicitation strategies.* Evaluate campaign progress and provide reports to Foundation and Hoag leadership, campaign volunteers and boards of directors regarding results, successes, lessons learned, opportunities for growth and forecasting.* Create and manage campaign budgets. * Performs other duties as assigned.Job Knowledge, Skills, and CompetenciesCritical Thinking - Actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication.Data Analysis - Identifying, evaluating, interpreting and organizing data so that it can be used for business decisions. For clinical positions, this includes clinical procedures required by department and unit, as demonstrated by unit based competency testing.Leadership - Exercising supervisory responsibility in a manner that is thoughtful and respectful. Creating an environment and providing information so that team members are successful. A leader formulates vision and objectives and leads team members in successfully achieving them. Promoting the highest standards of ethics and compliance.Operational Management - the management of the people, resources, deliverables, budgets, general administration and other components of day-to-day management of a functional unit or department.Oral/Written Communication - Ability to speak and write effectively, demonstrates fundamental command of language, communicates well using all mediums.Travel - Position may require local travel between various Organization locations.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree required. Seven years of professional experience leading fundraising campaigns in the non-profit sector, preferably within health care or higher education.
