Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager

Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President of OSAT Operations business unit the Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager will be responsible for all non-US manufacturing ('off-shore') operations, including day to day production activities together with multiple projects and programs. The off-shore operations team will support NPI, product sustaining and deliver on process related KPI's. This role will drive continuous improvements as needed tied to quality, cost and output of various Mix-Signal Semiconductor products such as TIAs, Laser Drivers, CDRs and DSPs.

The individual will manage a team of Engineers and Managers that are located at our contract partner locations, which are mainly in Asia:

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversee the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new or existing products and technologies
* Achieve prescribed objectives in each operating area by developing specific short-term and long term plans and programs
* Provide project leadership for key programs related to product line transfers, cost reduction and M&A
* Work closely with Design and Product Engineering teams in releasing new products
* Work closely with the Supply Chain function to achieve business unit revenue, gross margin goals and key operations metrics such as OTD, late backlog, cost, yield and cycle time
* Manage and drive the operational performance of overseas contract manufacturing partners
* Provide problem solving expertise for a wide range of semiconductor assembly and test challenges
* Implement work and process improvement methodologies in the effort to reduce defects and scrap, improve yield, throughput, Cpk, create robust processes and reduce cost
* Develop and manage Cap Ex budgeting and budget execution
* Responsible for asset management, maintenance and performance
* Build, develop and grow the operations team, ensuring the efficient day to day operation of the function
* Develop organisational capacity by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, provide feedback, coaching and development for team members, aligning to MACOM's core behaviours and department
* Be a mentor to the cross-functional engineering community
* Regularly communicate the company/department plans and processes to the team, ensuring a transparent and open flow of communication

Job Qualifications:

* Relevant Bachelor's Degree plus 15 years of relevant experience in a high-volume semiconductor packaging or equipment manufacturing engineering environment
* Minimum of 7 years' people management experience, with a focus on managing remote teams

Other Special Skills:

* Be very familiar with semiconductor packaging and test, or semiconductor equipment processes. Mix Signal Test Experience an advantage
* Possess an understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of experiments (DOE)
* Have a thorough understanding of supply chain management
* Possess a strong Excel and data analysis skill set
* PDM (Agile) and ERP (SAP) experience an advantage
* Be able to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring efficient organisation, frequent communication and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation
* Innovative, dynamic thinker with sound analytical techniques and ability to solve problems systematically
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners
* Possess the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and directly, both verbally and in writing to a global and varied audience
* Be an experienced international business traveler, regular business travel will be a requirement of the role
