Job Description LanceSoft is seeking a local contract Sterile Processing Technician for a local contract job in Long Beach, California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Local Contract Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment. This role ensures all instruments meet strict safety, quality, and infection control standards to support surgical and clinical teams. Key Responsibilities - Decontaminate used surgical instruments and equipment following proper PPE and infection control protocols. - Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble surgical instruments and equipment. - Assemble and package instrument trays and surgical sets according to established guidelines. - Operate washers, autoclaves, and sterilization equipment safely and effectively. - Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before packaging. - Maintain accurate sterilization records, instrument tracking, and inventory documentation. - Monitor and maintain instrument and supply inventory levels. - Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of sterilization equipment. - Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, and infection control procedures. - Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure compliance with quality standards. - Communicate effectively with team members and operations staff. - Participate in ongoing training and professional development. Required Skills - Knowledge of sterile processing, surgical instruments, and sterilization techniques - Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs) - Ability to operate washer disinfectors, autoclaves, and sterilization equipment - Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity - Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Basic computer and documentation skills - Strong communication and teamwork abilities Education Required: - High School Diploma or equivalent Experience - Minimum 1 year of hands-on sterile processing experience Certifications Required: - Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CRCST, CIS, or equivalent) About LanceSoft Established in 2000, LanceSoft is a Certified MBE and Woman-Owned organization.
