will provide guest with impeccable hair care and hair style with
professionalism, personalized service and hospitality to guests of
Spa Montage. The Montage collection is a portfolio of extraordinary
resorts. While each property is unique, at Spa Montage we all share

wellbeing. Your role with Spa Montage will be to contribute to the
collective success of our brand by meeting and exceeding guest
expectations by aligning with our mission, vision, and values. On
Call/Casual status is a minimum of one day per week commitment but
does not guarantee hours. Part Time is a minimum of 3 days per week
commitment. Full Time maintains 30 hours per week minimum on an
ongoing basis. Shifts vary in duration and timing; current needs of
the spa will be discussed in the interview process. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS · Perform direct salon services for guests including hair
shampooing, scissor and clipper cutting, coloring and styling (ex:
curls, special event styles such as updos). · Analyze guest’s hair
and other physical features to determine and recommend beauty
treatment or suggest hair styles. · Possess a dynamic and extensive
level of skill that can highly personalize each guest’s experience
according to their individual goals and with the upmost
consideration of safety and security. · Prompt with starting and
ending services, being able to work within acutely defined time
frames, in accordance with Spa Montage treatment expectations and
with high standards of luxury service in voice, action and
intention. · Practice highly anticipatory service, knowing and
referencing guest information including services, repeat visits and
other spa and salon experiences booked during their visit, to
create a personalized, authentic, and seamless experience for every
guest. · Graciously and thoughtfully provide guests suggestions and
recommendations for services and homecare with the guest’s best
interest in mind, empowering our guests to select choices without
strong selling or pushing. · Maintain the highest level of ethics
and professionalism in voice and action, maintaining guest safety
and comfort levels throughout salon services and adapt accordingly
with grace. Discreet and secure caping techniques are always
practiced, as well as all standards of sanitation and sterilization
as directed by California law, California State Board of
Cosmetology and Montage expectations. · Prepare and reset hair
stations to Montage expectations including thorough surface
cleaning, tray and counter presentation and stock levels. Be
productive with downtime. · Preform prep work, equipment
maintenance, properly clean and restock stations, dispensary, and
storage spaces to ensure a seamless work environment. · Always
follow Montage grooming guidelines and courteously interact and
answer all salon, spa, and resort related questions with guests. ·
Have a passion for ongoing learning regarding Montage products,
services and standards of luxury as well as personally pursuing
continuing education opportunities. A thorough knowledge of Spa
Montage services, indications, contraindications, and ingredients
is maintained. · Equipment and supplies are properly cared for and
concerns are reported in a timely manner. Proper amount of product
and supplies are used in accordance with the treatment protocol to
assist with controls and minimize waste. · Offer flexibility with
schedule and availability to meet the variable demand of salon
services and work as a team to ensure a work life balance. ·
Performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded. · Demonstrate s
willingness to learn and be adaptable. Attend mandatory meetings
and training with Spa leadership and coordinated partners.
Continuing education is pursued so that you are always aware of
current trends in the industry. · Willingness to mentor others,
participating in on-boarding of new hires and ongoing training with
the Spa Front Desk team as related to Salon services and guest
experience. · Actively participates in safety programs and abides
by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements. ·
Participates and supports Montage efforts toward community service,
sustainability, and environmental initiatives. · Communicate with
management all occurrences involving staff or guests that require
attention. Handle concerns professionally and courteously. ·
Maintain positive attitude and contribute to a quality work
environment. · Assist fellow associates with daily operations to
support healthy teamwork and contribute to the success of the spa,
including guest relaxation spaces, locker rooms, boutique, and
fitness center. · Escorts guests to and from salon areas in a
graceful manner, attending to any immediate needs throughout the
spa and salon. · Assist in any other function as requested by Spa
Montage and resort leadership. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED · Valid
Cosmetologist License from the State Board of California. · Minimum
of 2 years of experience as a practicing Hair Stylist in a similar
environment. · Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure,
and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and
transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals
and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and
disposal methods. · Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read,
write, and understand English. · Able to work weekends and holidays
as well as mornings, evenings. PREFERRED · High School Diploma or
equivalent. · Experience in a luxury salon or hotel environment
that follows the highest standards of guest service; preferably one
which has attained a 4, or 5-star rating by Forbes. · Additional
certificates for specialty services and modalities such as scalp
treatments, make up services, lash services, extensions, waxing,
nail services, etc. SKILLS · High level of training and exceptional
skill in Facial, Body Treatment and Waxing applications. ·
Excellent eye for detail, ability to multi-task and ability to work
gracefully in a fast-paced environment both independently and as a
team. Calm under pressure. · Passionate about luxury service and
hospitality. Enjoy working with guests and associates and possess a
friendly, customer first service orientation. · Excellent
interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work as a team
and independently. · Ability to maintain discretion and
confidentiality of all guest and hotel information. PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS Position requires standing, walking, opening doors and
giving direction most of the working day; must be able to push,
pull and exert well-paced mobility while standing for up to 6 hours
at a time. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day
and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in a
limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, twist and
stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20
pounds frequently and up to 45 pounds occasionally on a regular and
ongoing basis. Must be able to push and pull spa equipment and
linen carts weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to
exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other
departments of the hotel on a timely basis. Requires grasping,
turning, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions,
bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual
acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously with the need to
speak on the telephone and respond to guests and converse with
staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment. Vision
occurs continuously, needing to view small print and details beyond
arms reach, with the most common visual functions being those of
near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use
and operate all necessary equipment. The above is intended to

scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of
incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the
