Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Research and write internal communications, including but not limited to Intranet posts, internal articles, employee and department profiles, calendar listings and events.

Take ownership for creating internal communication content, particularly the news and announcements that will ensure that our employees are up to date.

Serve as a liaison between company department representatives to bridge workforce across geographic locations.

Develop communications that engage employees and support corporate culture initiatives.

Assist with event planning for corporate social responsibility, holiday, employee recognition and other initiatives.

Provide general copy edits and proofreading support.

Create invitations, flyers, fact sheets, and other pieces of collateral related to internal communications.

Respond to requests for company information and marketing assets.

Write feature stories on employees, teams, and other subjects of interest to help promote employee engagement and recognition.

Assist in the creation of employee recognition and veteran profiles, awards submissions, polls, surveys, and blog posts.

Monitor media coverage and assist in creating media coverage reports.

Respond to employee requests for marketing assets such as photos, headshots, bios, fact sheets and sales materials.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field plus a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Knowledge of AP style guidelines.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with media relations databases, publishing tools, and online collaboration tools. Video scripting, production, editing, or graphic design experience a plus.
