Job Description:Pacific Life is looking for a dynamic leader to
develop and implement strategies, initiatives and programs that
support the company's sustainability and corporate social
responsibility efforts. The Assistant Vice President,
Sustainability, will have direct accountability for developing and
driving environmental and sustainability strategies, responsible
business initiatives, and other emerging areas of corporate social
responsibility. This role will lead key projects, cross-functional
teams, and coordinate across the enterprise, communicating with
executives, employees, business partners as well as key external
stakeholders. -This position will be located in Newport Beach,
CA.This position requires a deep understanding of sustainability,
ESG, and non-financial reporting; experience managing, leading, and
implementing corporate sustainability initiatives and efforts;
setting and managing to metrics; communicating company efforts,
priorities and initiatives to key stakeholders; and an
understanding of how initiatives drive business value across a
global organization. -How you will make an impact:
- Drive implementation of Pacific Life's sustainability strategy,
key programs, stakeholder engagement, metrics reporting and
disclosures
- Support development of Pacific Life's corporate social
responsibility report. Work with stakeholders across the company
and across markets to develop relevant content and lead efforts to
enhance overall ESG disclosure strategy and process to increase
publicly available information
- Spearhead company efforts to develop programs and reporting
capabilities to meet established framework reporting requirements,
such as TCFD. - -
- Collaborate with internal departments/markets to identify key
ESG gaps/opportunities and advance new programs the drive value and
minimize risk -
- Work closely with Communications and Community Relations teams
to develop and execute sustainability messaging and engagement
activities that drive increased communication on Pacific Life's
sustainability priorities
- Develop strategies to actively promote awareness of Pacific
Life's sustainability strategies and programs to internal and
external stakeholders -
- Develop company responses to customer requests, industry and
partner surveys, and ESG-related rankings -
- Lead creation of storytelling, key messaging, and
sustainability materials/asset development in collaboration with
functions/markets -
- Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with government and
policy affairs teams and other key stakeholders to bolster
governance processes in alignment with global regulatory
requirements. -The experience you will bring:
- Strong expertise in communications/marketing and ability to
create short- and long-form content for campaigns, stakeholder
engagement programs, digital channels, and company reports -
- 7 - 10+ years of experience working on sustainability,
corporate social responsibility (CSR), ESG issues broadly
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sustainability, ESG,
Communications, Marketing, Public Policy, Environmental Science or
related field -
- Deep expertise on ESG, sustainability and climate issues -
- Knowledge of sustainability standards, tools, and reporting
mechanisms (ex. GHG Protocol, CDP, GRI, SASB, etc.), and emerging
practices (ex. TCFD, UN Sustainable Development Goals, global
regulatory requirements etc.)
- Demonstrated excellence in understanding brand building and
integrating sustainability into the company's strategy and
implementation efforts
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication
skills and outstanding relationship building skills at all levels
of the organization, including senior executives. -
- Proven track record of collaborating across a matrixed
organization to build alignment on, and advance, key strategies

- Excellent skills developing and managing relationships across a
multitude of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong project management skills, attention to detail
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills - written, oral,
PowerPoint/Visual -
- Strong ability to collaborate across the organization and drive
a shared agenda that recognizes and supports business needs
- Strong analytical skills with ability to track, measure and
identify business improvement solutions -#LI-DD1Base Pay Range:The
base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate
offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to
geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity.
Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive
