Job Purpose
The purpose of the Arbor Summer Internship Program in participation with the Future Housing Leaders program is to promote diversity in the housing industry by providing students with diverse backgrounds, a professional learning experience within the commercial mortgage industry. This program will provide the opportunity to current college students to gain career exposure and on-the-job experience while also helping them to better understand Arbor and our business.
Essential Job Functions (Duties/Responsibilities)
The Underwriting Intern will assist in the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Underwriting

• 
  
• Review and apply financial/credit exhibits under various underwriting programs
  
• Request and review all third party reports (appraisal, inspection and environmental) for compliance respective agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac)
  
• Conduct detailed economic and demographic research to determine feasibility of transactions
  
• Assist the underwriter in Preparing and presenting comprehensive loan approval package to credit committee
  
• Advance usage of Multifamily and Financial terminology
  
• Attend a site-inspection of physical real-estate assets alongside a current Underwriter

  Education: Must be a Bachelor's degree candidate in Finance, Economics or a related discipline with an interest in commercial real estate finance
  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills
    
  • Meticulous attention to detail
    
  • Hard working with an ability to work alone as well as in teams
    
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and Word
    
  • Strong work ethic and pro-active team player able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
    
  • Familiarity with Real Estate and Finance a plus
