We're actively seeking a talented Splunk Operations Engineer to join our Tools team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, or hybrid in our Newport Beach, CA Office. As an Splunk Operations Engineer, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by playing?a key role in architecting and implementing enterprise IT monitoring solutions. How you will make an impact: * Deliver excellent service to end-users and provide efficient and effective event management * Provide leadership and support for the enterprise IT logging solution. * Assess, plan, and manage projects to improve performance, data quality, and other key items. * Build processes and procedures to ensure consistency and continuity. * Troubleshoot and plan permanent fixes to address the root cause of issues. * Build detailed technical plans and designs related to logging and monitoring to meet business and security requirements. * Design, build, and maintain a monitoring and logging roadmap that aligns with the technical direction of the organization and company. * Identify process improvement opportunities, and opportunities for automation or other enhancements. * Assess and provide recommendations to improve root cause identification and response time in enterprise systems and applications. The experience you will bring: * BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience * 5+ years of working with SIEM platforms and other logging platforms in an enterprise IT environment. * Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure * Experience designing and building distributed Splunk Platform architecture. * Experience designing custom Splunk Apps. * Experience working with cloud-native services in AWS such as EC2 and S3. * Understanding of business processes and importance of change management * Demonstrated ability to communicate both laterally and up to influence decisions and actions. * Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio skills to create project documents and presentations. Nice to have: * SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, and SCOM is a big plus. * Familiarity with application monitoring/synthetic transaction tools. * Familiarity with industry-standard scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell. * Familiarity with infrastructure as code automation. Base Pay Range: The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity.
